Russell M. Nelson temple Temples and Family History Invitations

My dear brothers and sisters, construction of these temples may not change your life, but your time in the temple surely will. In that spirit, I bless you to identify those things you can set aside so you can spend more time in the temple. I bless you with greater harmony and love in your homes and a deeper desire to care for your eternal family relationships. I bless you with increased faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a greater ability to follow Him as His true disciples.
I bless you to raise your voice in testimony, as I do now, that we are engaged in the work of Almighty God!
Each one of us needs the ongoing spiritual strengthening and tutoring that is possible only in the house of the Lord. And our ancestors need us to serve as proxy for them.
– Becoming Exemplary Latter-day Saints
Consider the great mercy and fairness of God, who, before the foundation of the world, provided a way to give temple blessings to those who died without a knowledge of the gospel.
– Becoming Exemplary Latter-day Saints
If you have reasonable access to a temple, I urge you to find a way to make an appointment regularly with the Lord—to be in His holy house—then keep that appointment with exactness and joy.
– Becoming Exemplary Latter-day Saints
To those who have long been absent from the temple, I encourage you to prepare and return as soon as possible. Then I invite you to worship in the temple and pray to feel deeply the Savior’s infinite love for you, that each of you may gain your own testimony that He directs this sacred and ageless work.
– Becoming Exemplary Latter-day Saints
Establish a pattern of regular temple attendance.
– Sisters’ Participation in the Gathering of Israel
If I announce a temple in a place that is special to you, may I suggest that you simply bow your head with a silent prayer of gratitude in your heart. We do not want any verbal outbursts to detract from the sacred nature of this conference and the Lord’s holy temples.
– Closing Remarks
may we dedicate and rededicate our lives to serving God and His children—on both sides of the veil.
– Closing Remarks
Please use this time when temples are closed to continue to live a temple-worthy life or to become temple worthy.
– Go Forward in Faith
Talk about the temple with your family and friends.
– Go Forward in Faith
please schedule regular time to worship and serve in the temple. Every minute of that time will bless you and your family in ways nothing else can.
– Hear Him
Take time to ponder what you hear and feel when you are there.
– Hear Him
Ask the Lord to teach you how to open the heavens to bless your life and the lives of those you love and serve.
– Hear Him
I invite you to increase your participation in family history, including family history research and indexing. I promise that as you increase your time in temple and family history work, you will increase and improve your ability to hear Him.
– Hear Him
build and maintain yourself so you can be worthy to enter the holy temple.
– A New Normal
I pray that your desire to worship and serve in the temple burns more brightly now than ever.

– What We Are Learning and Will Never Forget
Please make time for the Lord in His holy house. Nothing will strengthen your spiritual foundation like temple service and temple worship.
– Make Time for the Lord
If you don’t yet love to attend the temple, go more often—not less. Let the Lord, through His Spirit, teach and inspire you there.
– The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation
If it were possible for me to speak one-on-one with every young adult, I would plead with you to seek a companion with whom you can be sealed in the temple.
– The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation
If I could speak with each husband and wife who have still not been sealed in the temple, I would plead with you to take the necessary steps to receive that crowning, life-changing ordinance.
– The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation
I plead with you to seek—prayerfully and consistently—to understand temple covenants and ordinances.18
– The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation
As opportunities present themselves for temple attendance in coming months, I urge you to find a way to make an appointment with the Lord—to be in His holy house—then keep that appointment with exactness and joy. I promise you that the Lord will bring the miracles He knows you need as you make sacrifices to serve and worship in His temples.
